Kadr z filmu "Pan Twardowski" z 1936 roku (Twardowski - Franciszek Brodniewicz, Mefistofil - Kazimierz Junosza-Stępowski).
Scene from the movie "Pan Twardowski" from 1936.

Ok, the masterthesis essay is finished and so I'm back to sculpting. Today I would like to show you my latest effort that I started besides the Dos de Mayo project (and I must say that in the upcoming months I'm planning to show several new figure projects). This new piece is a vignette based on the story of a polish nobleman called Twardowski. He bares many similarities to Goethe's Faust. Like Faust, Twardowski signed a pact with the devil - he sold his soul for using devilish powers. Though he was smart enough to delude the devil for seven years, finally he was caught in a tavern named Rome (and it was written in the pact that the devil will take him under his powers in Rome). My vignette is based particullary on a satiric poem Pani Twardowska, by Adam Mickiewicz. Twardowski was drinking his vodka from a cup and suddenly Mephistopefeles jumped out of it. And there starts my story...
The figures are in 54mm, made with magic sculp, greenstuff. The heads are converted resin.
